The Black Panthers were primarily very young activists who did not like what they saw happening in their communities. They decided to get together and to make a change.
They organized formed branches and started to make some real changes in their communities. They also started to form alliances with other groups, and were becoming a force to be reconnded with. The state authority did not like that, and released the full force of a program known as Cointelpro on them.
Cointelpro involved false arrests, set up's, infiltrations, smear campagins, even polictical assassinations. They never stood a chance.
The legacy of change and the difference that can be made lives on in their legacy, and in the rememberance of the good changes they made for those around them.
